  • NOMINATING COMMITTEE
    This committee shall be responsible for the Call of Nominations. In order for a member to be put on the ballot, he/she shall have received nominations from at least one member of the chapter. Permission must be received by the person being nominated for their name to be placed on the ballot. If no one receives a nomination, the Nominating Committee shall choose the slate.
  • MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
    This committee shall contact/recruit new Central Maryland residents by sending them a current copy of the Newsletter and membership application. They shall be responsible for the annual newcomer's function and shall devise and implement with the assistance of the Membership chairperson a membership drive event. The committee will provide greeters for each chapter function.
  • SOCIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
    The committee shall be responsible for planning and implementing the chapter events and shall be responsible for providing the necessary volunteers for each event. The committee shall provide timely information to the Communications Committee for inclusion in the monthly newsletter, on the website, or with any other method for promoting the Chapter.
  • SCHOLARSHIP and FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE
    This committee shall work with the Office of University Development, the President and the Treasurer to organize various campaigns for fundraising for the scholarship fund. They shall be responsible for selecting the annual scholarship recipient.
  • ALUMNI ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE
    This committee shall provide volunteers for local college fairs. They shall work with the Penn State Admissions Office to provide training for volunteers, to provide information for interested students and to coordinate opportunities for recruiting new students in the area.
  • COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
    This committee shall be responsible for providing information to the media about the chapter and its activities and shall provide information for the Penn Stater Magazine as appropriate. In addition, the chairperson of the committee shall appoint a person responsible for maintaining the chapter scrapbook with photos and descriptions of the events.
  • CAREER NETWORK COMMITTEE
    This committee shall provide opportunities to current students for internships, mentoring, and permanent placements in the area. This committee shall also work to provide a network of employment and career opportunities for alumni in the area.
  • COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE
    This committee shall have the responsibility for identifying opportunities for the Chapter to provide charitable services and events in the Chapter territory. This Committee shall include promotion of the annual Dance Marathon and create programs for fundraising for the Thon.
