Welcome to the Home Page for the
Penn State Alumni Association’s
Central Maryland Chapter Scholarship
We are happy to announce our inaugural scholarship to be awarded for the Spring 2018 Semester. Our scholarship provides recognition and financial assistance to students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State that have officially demonstrated financial need through Penn State’s Office of Student Aid. We have made a commitment to Penn State to annually fund this scholarship for 2018 through 2022 with a maximum award each year of $2500. Applications will be considered independently each year, so you must reapply each year.
Our alumni chapter is a proud member of the Penn State community and aspires to the goals of that community including philanthropy and community service. Our scholarship is limited to students who have been identified by Penn State with home addresses in or near Howard County and thus received a postcard invitation from our chapter to apply for our scholarship. Initially, our scholarship celebrates the life of long-time chapter member Edward Kennedy. Edward unexpectedly passed away last year, and donations by friends and family in memory of him are a key component of the funds behind this scholarship.
